明末 破山海明禅师悟道因缘---连载013


<p><font color="#0000ff"><span>南怀瑾先生著作中,曾提到破山海明禅师,</span><span>说他在张献忠杀四川人的时候,去见张献忠,要求不杀人。</span><span>张献忠说:你吃肉,我就不杀。</span><span>禅师说:拿肉来。</span>禅师因此救了很多人。</font></p><p><span><b><font size="5"><br></font></b></span></p><p><b><font size="5"><span style="color: rgb(0, 82, 255);text-indent: 2em;"></span><span>破山海明禅师悟道因缘</span></font></b></p><p><span>  </span><span>天童密云圆悟禅师之法嗣,俗姓蹇,四川渝州(今重庆)人,生于大明万历二十五年(1597)。</span><span>海明禅师天资过人,十三岁纳室某氏,人情世略不经心。</span><span>十四岁父母双亡,淡然世务。</span><span>。</span></p><p><span>  一日,海明禅师听慧然法师讲《楞严经》,至“一切众生皆由不知常住真心,性净明体,用诸妄想。</span><span>此想不真,故有轮回”这一段时,心生迷闷,于是找来《楞严经》,反复熟读,至“七处征心,八还辨见”,恍然有所悟入。</span><span>于是他便入室,向慧然法师请益。</span><span>慧然法师不能为他决疑。</span><span>不得已,海明禅师便孤杖出蜀,遍参诸方,</span><span>  不久,</span><span>”于是,海明禅师便过起草衣木食的隐居生活。隐居期间,海明禅师曾依《高峰录》,以七日为限,意欲克期取证。一日,海明禅师登上万丈悬崖顶端,自誓云:“悟不悟,性命在今日了!”于是便</span><span>到了晚上,海明禅师翻身负痛,悄然有省。第二天早晨,海明禅师高声叫道:“屈!屈!”这时,有一居士走近前,问道:“足痛么?”海明禅师劈面便掌,说道:“非公境界!”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师后听说密云圆悟禅师在金粟接众,于是前往参礼,请求印证。</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师刚到金粟的那天,适逢雷霆大作,大雨倾盆。</span><span>圆悟禅师上堂,告诉大众云:</span><span>“假饶雷来打我,汝等如何支遣?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师一听,便从大众中走出,回答道:</span><span>“用遣作么?</span><span>”说完便呈偈云:</span></p><p><span>  “□地雷声意自悠,内人欢喜几人愁。</span></p><p><span>   吾师纵有分身法,血溅黄沙倒逆流。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  于是圆悟禅师便令海明禅师留在座下,主维那、西堂之事。</span></p><p><span>  一日,海明禅师入室请益。</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师端坐默然。</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师问道:</span><span>“正恁么时如何?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师反问道:</span><span>“你可到恁么地否?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师于是震威一喝。</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师拈拄杖便打。</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师于是又连喝两声。</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师道:</span><span>“再喝两喝看!</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师便掀翻禅床,拂袖而出。</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师追上来,举起拈杖,劈头就打。</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“恁么为人,瞎却天下人眼在。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  过了几天,海明禅师又随众入室参礼。</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师道:</span><span>“内不放出,外不放入,正恁么时,以何为界?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“竿头丝线从君弄,不犯清波意自殊。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  圆悟禅师一听,遂点头称可。</span></p><p><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>  第二天,海明禅师便呈偈云:</span></p><p><span>  “太平之世,野老风淳。</span></p><p><span>   内不放出兮,乐国乐民。</span></p><p><span>   外不放入兮,足食足兵。</span></p><p><span>   虽然正化无私通,只恐关头暗渡津。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  崇祯元年(1628),</span><span></span></p><p><span>  海明禅师出世后,最初住禾州之东塔。</span><span>后又应邀住持过岊(jie)岳、大峨、万峰、中庆、凤山、棲灵、祥符、无际、佛恩、双桂等道场,一时宗风遐播。</span></p><p><span>  明朝末年,李自成起义,遍地干戈,生灵涂炭。</span><span>海明禅师曾有诗感叹云:</span></p><p><span>  “十戈队里几经秋,恐我师徒难聚头。</span></p><p><span>   今日相逢舒一气,两城烟水自悠悠。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  </span><span></span></p><p><span>  海明禅师住山期间,曾有朱婆子来参。</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子问:</span><span>“一切时参究念佛底是谁?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“你这一问从甚处来?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子道:</span><span>“朝夕不离。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师追问道:</span><span>“不离个甚么?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子于是转身绕师一匝,云:</span><span>“不离者(这)个。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“也是赤土涂牛奶。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子问:</span><span>“弟子现是女身,父母未生前,还是男是女?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师卓拄杖道:</span><span>“还识者个么?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子道:</span><span>“无去无来。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“是甚么所在,说来说去?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  朱婆子道:</span><span>“即今如何抵敌?</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  海明禅师道:</span><span>“好与三十棒。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  这段机语对辩,颇有意味,学禅者可细细体会。</span></p><p><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>  </span><span>。临终的那天晚上,夔州太守梦见海明禅师交给他一把扇子,上有诗偈云:</span></p><p><span>  “屣声滑滑响苍苔,老去寻山一块哉!</span></p><p><span>   回首五云堪一笑,澹然潇洒出尘埃。</span><span>”</span></p><p><span>  太守醒后,立即遣人问候,而海明禅师已经迁化了。</span><span>太守非常惊异,于是将其诗偈及法语刊布于世。</span></p><p><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>  </span><span>云:</span></p><p><span>  “初做功夫,于行住坐卧四威仪内,遇境生疑、逢缘理会处,稍知分晓,则不必疑,此是先德入门最要紧处。</span><span>若久做功夫者,似是而非,终是恍惚,唯理障难除,当机有依倚,事觉沾滞,总未大彻大悟之过也。</span><span>然彻悟处,非在方册子上印证过来,诸方知识口角头许可去就。</span><span>所谓‘把手牵人行不得,为人自肯乃方亲’。</span><span>学道如登万仞山,且万仞山犹有形段可立,犹有程限必期可到。</span><span>然此道无形段,非期月程限而可必者。</span><span>故古圣云:</span><span>‘佛道长远,久受勤苦,乃可得成。</span><span>’须立远大之志,将我日用寻常,穿衣吃饭,迎宾待客,屙屎放尿,看是阿谁主张,贴体理会去。</span><span>老僧前所谓遇境生疑、逢缘理会者是也。</span><span>古有十八高贤,内有一弃妻出家,夜梦与妻不净行,忽醒来梦遗,致疑谓:</span><span>‘彼又不曾来,我亦不曾去’,不待天明,豁然大悟。</span><span>灵云看桃花,香严击竹,而非人不见闻,因何不悟?</span><span>此今人古人非根器别,在人功夫切不切耳!</span><span>……若不切,纵经尘劫,犹未梦着在。</span><span>前辈者流,问万法归一一归何处,赵州答云:</span><span>‘我在青州做领布衫,重七斤。</span><span>’众兄弟,看他问处答处,是何道理?</span><span>此是漫天要价,不妨就地还钱。</span><span>须是当家种(zhong)草(犹言佛种,能够延续佛法慧命之大根器者),始解翻腾者矣。</span><span>若是裁长补短,较重论轻,虽是新奇,亦成滞货。</span><span>老僧如是告极,未审人还委悉么?</span><span>莫教错过眼前事,无限春光不再来。</span><span>”</span></p>
